Bear Hunt

Packing List

for your british Columbia hunt

What You Need To Bring For Your Spring Bear Hunt With Primitive Outfitting in British Columbia, Canada

You will be hunting in the Northern Rockies at about 2300-4000 ft. elevation. During this time of the year, the weather can be anywhere from 80°F and dry to 30°F windy and snowing, and that may be on the same day. The evening hunts require sitting for several hours, so layering is essential.

In British Columbia, you do not need hunter orange. Our area is remote, and the chance of seeing other hunters is small. If you have camouflage hunting clothing, bring it, but it is more important to be quiet than camouflaged.  It is not necessary to go out and purchase hundreds of dollars worth of Camo, but it is important that your clothes and rain gear are not noisy in the brush. Bears have an incredible sense of smell and, most times, are very cautious. It is very important to be a good, still hunter.

LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU AND CHASING SOME BEARS!

This basic list reflects my personal bias in clothing and hunting equipment and is for reference only. Feel free to add or subtract as you prefer. The important thing is to dress in layered clothing that is not cotton, and that is quiet. Your guide will have all the necessary equipment to care for your game.
